The Sarawak International Conference on Ageing (SICA) 2025 is an international platform that brings together policymakers, practitioners, researchers, civil society leaders, and advocates to address the challenges of global population ageing. This gathering facilitates knowledge sharing, promotes innovative solutions, and strengthens partnerships to improve wellbeing for older adults.
On behalf of the Ministry of Women, Early Childhood, and Community Wellbeing Development Sarawak, it is my great pleasure to welcome all distinguished guests, speakers, and participants to the Sarawak International Conference on Ageing (SICA) 2025.
This year’s conference, themed “Ageing with Dignity: Policies for Rights, Inclusion, and Social Protection,” brings together thoughtful leaders, policymakers, researchers, practitioners, and advocates from around the world. Together, we will explore innovative strategies, share best practices, and strengthen partnerships to ensure that older persons are respected, empowered, and fully included in our societies.
Ageing is not merely a demographic trend — it is a journey that reflects the richness of human experience. It is our collective responsibility to create environments where every individual can age with dignity, security, and purpose. I am confident that the knowledge exchanged, and collaborations forged during this conference will pave the way for impactful policies and sustainable solutions for the benefit of all.
Organised by the Ministry of Women, Early Childhood, and Community Wellbeing Development Sarawak and co-hosted by SGGS, SICA 2025 explores ageing policies locally and globally, aiming to develop practical, inclusive responses to demographic change.
